About To get 100 deg FOV in both directions, I stitched three wide angle landscapes vertically (handheld, circular polarizer, @10 mm, that is 16 mm in 35-film terms). 1/60 f:4.5 to 1/200 f: 6.3, ISO 100. Pano with PTGui, 16bit TIF with CaptureOne. The color version was blended in overlay mode over a sepia toned background.

Very nice . ...what a technique ..

Chris Hunter   {K:25631} 9/6/2005
No kidding - f/5.6?? Incredible DOF given the wide open aperature. The extremely wide FOV really works well here Carsten. I have some panos I took Sat. and worked on over the weekend, and will probaly be uploading shortly,

Cheers,
Chris

Carsten Ranke   {K:14453} 9/6/2005
Chris, f:5.6 for the lower third image, DOF just sufficient up to the second shot in the center ;-)

Your Stitching Amazes me Carsten. Your Work is out of the world. I really appreciate the fact that you Give the details of what you did with this Shot. That fact alone helps out us people who don't have much ideas of the who's, whats, wheres and hows.
Me being the analytical, I like to know how it was done as well as Seeing the finished product.

One again, Thanks for sharing your wonderful talents.
Best regards

Sam III

ricardo longhi-frantz   {K:9648} 9/6/2005
another impressive and masterly picture!!! amazing textures in foreground, leading marvelously the eye into the scene till losing itself in the distance!! the orange flowers add touching and delicate, but decisive, details of a necessary color to make the composition even more effective and original! congrats!!!!!!

Well composed. I like this colortone, it works fine in landscapes.

FERDINAND DOTREMONT   {K:6587} 9/7/2005
Excellent work. It is special: the tones and the very dramatic clouds. Also the flowers who lead the eye to the horizon and the dramatic clouds. Wunderful.

Another mind-warping landscape. The sheer field of view is almost overwhelming. Great work.

Giorgio Goretti   {K:15471} 9/10/2005
a tribute to infinity, very good landscape with fantastic tones and light...good work, as usual
cheers, Giorgio

Chris Hunter   {K:25631} 9/11/2005
Ahh...I understand Carsten...a large aperature for each of the three images, which results in a similiar DOF for all three images...which results in front to back sharpness when the three are combined. I will have to try this sometimes, as I sometimes want to shoot in landscape, but am unable to acheive the FOV desired and just switch to portrait instead.

Thanks for the explanation,
Chris

Gerhard Fuehring   {K:4280} 9/11/2005
I love to read your descriptions! By the way: the result is excellent

Fadel J   {K:13512} 9/14/2005
Superior scene and work Carsten!!

Mary Brown   {K:67759} 9/25/2005
Spendid, once agian, Mr. Landscape. The tough of colour in the foreground and the lines lead us walking right through to the back of the picture enjoying every step.
Mary
