About durint our trip in Florida, we stop in a rest area between Port Canaveral and Fort Lauderdale. In that place, there were two of those big birds. What kind? I don't know, but they were very sociable.

Ah !

Nice shot, Jacques, but I'm not sure what bird it is either.
Kind regards, Chris

I believe this is an adult sandhill crane. It is occasionally found in Canada as well, though not often in Quebec. Salute.

Eh thanks for the hint Dave... and for commenting my pics.

I love this shot! These birds are called Sandhill Cranes. They are considered to be endangered in the State of Florida. The reason for this is because they mate for life. I see them in my yard all the time!

thanks a lot for your comments and for the answer to my question.

Great capture of this Sand Hill Crane, we get them here and I have never been able to get real close to them. Pat

when we stop at the area, they are waiting for visitors... and their food :)

Thanks for your visit and comment Pat
