What a fascinating experiment, Laurie! Yep, I see the reclining figure there, too - one hand shading his eyes, the other across his torso, reclining and gazing out (to sea, maybe?) Clearly this sparks the imagination of the viewer!

Neat idea.... it's whatever you make of it... sort of like a Rorschach test!!!! Wonderful in B&W!!! Good tones, could be a bit crisper... but it's hard to focus on fluids so I'm totally happy with it as is.... well done!!!

Linda, Yep, it's food coloring in water. I used a dark coloring so I would get a nice contrast when I converted it. I plan on trying this in color as well, but I like the black and white because it draws attention to the shapes (in this case a person). :)

That's what I thought it was. I bet you'll get some really neat ones in colors, wonder what a mix of colors would do, not blended but just poured in and maybe swirled around gently, that person is amazing really...great work...Linda

Lovely shot, Laurie, and I'm really flattered by your "about".
Yup, I can see the guy lying there!
I see a couple of comments on the sharpness. I have had similar problems and find this really tricky when shooting from above. I'm trying to find an appropriate container to get some of these shots from the side, which should resolve the problem (although to be honest I'm not sure it really is a "problem").
Looking forward to seeing more!

John, I'll be interested to see what the new container does for sharpness. But, I'm happy with the level of sharpness on mine and I thought your image looked great as it was. :)

Yep... I'll go with the flow here... definitely someone lying down and looking in to the distance while shading their eyes... Excellent shot and personally I see nothing wrong with the clarity and sharpness....
I bet you had loads of fun doing these!!!
