What a surprise, dear Trish! and so well captured for all of us. In Thailand we were told to look for "gleen elephants." What the guide meant was "green elephants", bushes cut to resemble elephants, like this one, cut to resemle a smily. Thank you for your very kind comment on my "Memories from Paris 32." Best regards, Rafi

Hi Trish,
thanks for you comment.
i believe this is the image that best defines your portfolio. Although it doesn't show any child it's got all the spirit!

José Azevedo

Dear Trish, thanks for coming on my flag shot. This is a cool looking bush - this bush gets my vote next time. BTW, have you ever thought of hooking up with a stock agency with your children shots? Check out the top 3 agencies - GETTY IMAGES / CORBIS / MASTERFILE (www. insert name with no spaces/ non cap. . com ) and click on Children to see what they have now. You could make some serious extra $$ which doesn't hurt. Let me know what you think. Mark

Dear Trish, Let me correct one thing. The beauty of a stock agency is you don't sell your images to them (unless you go into "clip art" which I don't recommend unless it's a shot you don't care to much about). A Stock Agency represents your work and sells the "Right to use your image only" to magazines, books, etc. - you always retain the ownership of your work. The split is usually 50 / 50 but that's where all publishers look for images. So the exposure to your work is amazing. They're very big on Lifestyle shots and family / children shots. There's an organization called Stock Agency Alliance - SAA that a friend started.) I can't remember the web site but if you do a Yahoo / Google search you'll get more info. The trick is to NEVER sell your work, just the usage of it. It's kinda like how pop music works - you hear it on the radio but the composer always owns it. (if the artists signed the right contracts). Hope that helps, Mark PS. If an agency's interested make sure you work with a lawyer that specializes in Photography - don't try to save $ by cutting the Lawyer out (I don't especially like them but you can sign all your work away unless you're on top of it)
