Great Shot Martin, I think having the guy in the shot give the veiwers the true prespective of the size of this Train.
Wonderful Shot, I would love to see the color version.
Have a Great one my friend.

Hello again Martin. I can see it's a Ten wheeler. Again the sepia works well for the old steamers.

Regards,

Tom

Tom,

Thank you again for your support and comments regarding my work... Although it looks to me like the Train has 6 wheels on each side? I don't know anything about trains other, than I grew up in Galesburg IL... I saw a lot of them there...

Thank you once again,

Martin

Hey Marty- Great image of the old Tarantula Train. I love this one in color- I had a funtime playing with it to make it look like an old photo. THANKS for resisting the urge to put it in an oval frame!! HA!

This is a nice picture Martin, I like the sepia tone, it fits so well with your subject of this old train! (so better and 'richer' than the color version!) I prefer this photo from the others with similar subject because it seems more 'complete'. But, I guess, this is a subjective point of view. I like the capture of the walking man, walking at the opposite direction of the train, his movement makes the picture more interesting (agree with the point made by Sam). Also, you've got a good variety of the tones, although in my opinion it would be better if the sky was not 'burned'. I know that working with so hard light is a bit tricky, but, then again maybe it's just the way you like it, so...

Regards,
George

I've enjoyed this train series. Also, with my dad we would watch trians, wave at the engineers and caboose men and count the cars. It was always lots of fun. At night growing up, i enjoyed listenting to the train whistles. I don't have that here now, which is too bad. I do like your original coloured version. However, I think the sepia toning adds a wonderful nostalgic tone to it like a faded photograph of one of these older giants. I also like the man here to help with the perspective of size. Great shots.
