A very moody, atmospheric shot, Chris! I like the toning to really give it some mystery.

This is my favourite version, wonderful tones and very moody. The vertical format works well with the leading lines in the scenery. Excellent B&W !

Karl Steyn   {K:258} 2/7/2006
Blown away !!!
I see I learn.
What effect does the polarizer have on this shot ?

Chris Hunter   {K:25631} 2/7/2006
Hi Karl - 1st, this is def. photoart. Have a look through my port. for the original shot of this...I changed this version quite a bit in PS.

But in answer to your question, the polarizer A) allowed me to slow the exposure time by 2 stops (creating a greater impression of mist in the moving waves) and B) removed any excessive highlights/reflections on the wet rocks that were at 90 degrees from the source of the light.

zeyad almajed   {K:175} 2/27/2006
Chris,
Stunning! Beautifull tone. I bet it makes killer prints.

Chris Hunter   {K:25631} 2/27/2006
Thank you Zeyad.

This one does make nice prints...espically ink-jet on matte paper. I find dye-sub prints of this image lack the sufficent heavy blacks needed to convey the mood in this image.

Regards,
Chris
