I really do like this, but please tel me what you had to do in order to get this effect? I may be wrong but it looks like you had to cut aroudn all of the tree and perhaps add the background after? If thsi is the case was it a fast process or very time consuming? thanx

hi Jason! this picture was taken against a perfectly clear and brilliant blue sky and that made possible to choose another hue with the PS saturation/hue tool. then i enhanced the contrast and used the burn tool for darkening some areas of the background. it was quite fast to do that. it would be needed a Job's patience for cutting around all that little branches hehehehehe.... thanks for your comment!

A superb, artistic photo, Ricardo. The violet background sets off the branches beautifully. The complexity of the branches is really nicely enhanced by the seemingly chaotic interplay of light and shadow. Beautiful!
