Beautiful sharpness and tonal range on this interesting subject. I could have sworn it was shot on black & white film and printed on fine paper or scanned as a negative. Good job!

No kidding...it looks like his hind legs got lopped off...lol. Beautiful toning -- sharp as a tack. It looks clean as a whistle. And I'm full of cliche's. Love your profile -- tickled me pink. (I'm in some kinda' mood.) Antonia

Hi Steve,
The process I've been using a lot for conversions is something like this. Upload the file in Photoshop (old version #3) Use the levels bars to taste in colour. Use a little brightness/contrast Build a frame around the image Convert to greyscale Re-adjust to taste Convert back to colour Tone to taste using the colour adjust bars Save as toned version
This might not be the right way to do it, but it works okay for me.

Great car and shot of it!!! Super in B&W!!! Wonderful tones, clarity and detail and good composition.... well done!!! I might've cropped just a little from the right edge to get rid of that bowl.. next to the flowerpot which can stay... ;-D!!! BTW that's a car with an attitude (a BIG one).... just look at the numberplate.... LOL!!!!

Thanks Petal, Cars from this era look great in colour too, but B&W toned is my favourite way to present them. I agree with you about the silly pot. I wished I'd got rid of it. It would have been nice if just a single pot of flowers was in the scene. Oh well, can't have everything. Andre

Thanks Darlene, I'm going to have to write down the numbers on those adjuster bars, so I can go back to the same settings for other images. I really like the tone in this one, but I bet I'll have a hard time reproducing it. Andre

Now that's my kind of tricycle... Nice angle and tonality but I'd suggest cloning out the flowers and table to the right and cropping a bit looser on top. It seems a tad crowded to me. Eric

Hi Eric, I agree with you on both counts. One of the problems with taking photos at places like this is all the other stuff that gets in the way of the picture. Sometimes you can get away with it by trying to close-crop all artsy fartsy like, and sometimes it just looks like the subject is crowded :) The tones came out so nice in this one, I just had to post it.
