I really like this one. The colours are so vibrant and jump right out. The butterfly is the center of attention. I prefer this background to the other as there are no large objects to distract one's eye from the main event. Your crop is very effective. Beautiful.

Very nice Janice. I think you could crop the light colored area off the bottom as it tends to draw the eye. The fence makes a nice background. Don.

Thanks Timur - was lucky to get any sort of a shot - he was moving fast and frequently! Jan

Thanks Kathy - appreciate your comments. Jan

Thanks Mary - but think I will try Don L's suggestion and try cropping out some of the gravel out of the bottom of the shot - I haven't played with PS and my shots too much as my computer has not been behaving well and I am just excited when I can actually upload a shot. It is behaving better, so...Jan

Thanks for your many comments Susie. This little guy was so pretty and so fast. My favorite is still the shot of what I think was my first upload on to usefilm. That butterfly was huge and he was very polite and hovered for quite awhile which allowed me to get several shots with my little Cybershot camera. Jan

Thanks for the suggestion Don - will play around and see what I can do! Hey, the nights are finally cooling off - yippie, so that means cooler days can't be too far away. Now if the price of gas will just come down so that we can afford to get out and about and take pictures... Jan

wonderful butterfly. I am wondering if you might have a white balance problem. I am not real familiar with the Cannon Digital Rebel, so do not know if white balance can be preset like Nikon. I take all my photos Raw,. Have you tried taking them that way, adjusting the white balance post process, and then converting to JPEG?
Just a thought., Best Regards, Ceceilia
