It DOES have something of the mood of Lawrence of Arabia! The mist (dust?) gives a delicate sense of the greater distances involved, gradually veiling details. This is beautifully rendered and makes a most unusual and compelling picture.

actually the color pretty much straight from the camera, when I took the picture, I played with white balance on the camera to get the color
