About Subject background: My tribute tour for my UF friends is getting high contrast... while standing there, I was sucked downstairs by the lights. The stairs disappeared, just the light remains.

This one is for Mark Drago who has style. He is one of the photo street warriors here. Check out his great pictorials:

http://www.usefilm.com/photographer/19620.html

PS work: Some layer stuff to increase the suction effect.

The image was done by moving the focus manually during the 1/10th shutter time. Thanks to Erik Nelder for the idea.

Thilo,

Interesting work.
Surreal as the lights remain static and yet the stairs disappear into thin air !

well done,

Bradley Prue   {K:30312} 9/22/2005
There is ample detail, with a minimum of focus... The sharp white objects and the vivid blue color complete this effort nicely! You have converged the lines and angles with an expert touch, Thilo! ..Brad

that then explains the unique shape of the lights on the stairwell, Thilo. I like the river running through the image. Stairs leading down. How difficult would it be to ascend this same staircase? Great concept; tough lighting but great PS work.

Hi Thilo,
A different way to see an everyday place! The image appears familiar yet alien at the same time. Something not quite real. Nice trick with the lens focus and slow shutter.

Linda Bique   {K:73856} 9/22/2005
Very dynamic, love the soft focus effects of the movement (of focus ring) and slow shutter speed. It has a bit of an impressionistic feel to it, which I love. The complementary colors are wonderful and those lights really make it "pop". Beautiful work of art Thilo..hugs...Linda

t,
i'm drawn to the way the viewer's eye is "drawn" down the dark steps using the shapes of light as beacons through the blurry fog of a dream-like state.
all the best,
e

Mark Drago   {K:10854} 11/4/2005
