About Just 30 years ago August! Seems like only yesterday.
Me in my 73 Triumph Spitfire in the beautiful Canadian Rockies. The shot was taken by my wife Bonnie, just before we went looking for a campsite.
Scanned from a print made on doubleweight Kodak Polycontrast paper.
Toned a little in PS.

A lot of history. The car, your trip, the camera, even Banff itself. It seems only the Tri-X has survived more or less unchanged.
At this time I was the proud owner of an Alfa Romeo 1300 GT Jr., I kinda missed the Britcar thing.

Blast from the past! (A great example of saving those old snapshots, huh!) Looks like you were having a great time...thanks for sharing this window into history.

wow this is really a wonderful shot, dont you love to look back at older photos, I really like the Triumph you had, you really look like you were having a blast! I had a Tr-7 that I drove the wheels off, but never got my hands on a nice spitfire. great shot..

Thanks Richard,
How many times have you heard people say they wished they had kept that car?
Andre

Andre Denis   {K:62760} 10/9/2005
Exactly Susie,
I suppose that was my point in my last comments to you about snapshots. They are mostly personal treasures.
ps We did have a great time!

Hi Marcus,
It's so much fun showing people your old cars in photos like this. So many people have their own stories of favourite old cars they have owned. We all have interesting love/hate relationships with our cars. Funny all the while I owned the Spitfire, I wanted a TR6. You probably wanted a TR8!

Hi Judi,
It was a wonderful way to enjoy those mountains in the Rockies! Even if it was a little chilly sometimes, we kept the top down most of the way!
We had a great time with lots of memories.

I do miss my Alfa! Sadly I blew the motor, and had no $$$$$$ for a rebuild.

Andre Denis   {K:62760} 10/11/2005
Hi Richard,
This one was actually damaged in a rear-ender just outside of Parry Sound. We were hit by a Mustang that had a trailer on the back. He was too heavy and couldn't stop in time. Needless to say, it put a damper on our trip for a while. It didn't seem to effect the handling of the car and an OPP officer helped straighten the back fenders with a crow bar and told us we were good to go on our way. I got the car fixed up when we got back to Toronto and only kept it for another year.

What a fantastic shot from the past! This inspires me to get some more snapshots of the Sprite so I can look back in 20 years and wish I hadn't sold it aswell!

Andre Denis   {K:62760} 3/27/2007
Hang on to it Robin!!!
If not, you will always have the pictures :)
You don't have to maintain the pictures so much :)
Andre
