Beautiful! ~ I can see how you like it! She definitely has a genuine smile and is really having a blast!

A lot of times hotspots bother me, but in this case it becomes part of the image as it appears intentional. Would be nice if lighting conditions were always ideal ~ but they aren't, and not pressing she shutter would be a worse option!!

Glad you caught the moment here...it's wonderful!

So joyful expression, full of movement and memory. Great moment captured, David!

Cute David. I like how you went with the softness.

Hi David-

Great catch of motion and emotion!

Maybe blur the bright bits of hair
above her eyes? I tried it. Want me to
post the example?

David Hofmann   {K:23763} 10/6/2005
thanks sammy. do you mean the hair blowing infront of her left eye? I actually like that.

sammy -   {K:4108} 10/6/2005
Hi David-

My bad writing. Nope, the hair over her eyes is fabulous, it's the sharp stuff above her eyes, which "says" subconsciously to the viewer, focus is in the wrong plane. If the bright bits of hair are blurred then it becomes a lovely soft image. You did not say to post the example, so I won't.

David Hofmann   {K:23763} 10/6/2005
ah now I get it. Its funny that you mention that. I often have this problem. Even though the focus is correct the soft skin in a child's face has little details so it looks soft or out of focus. The hair on the forehead has extreme fine detail and automatically looks like in focus. And our eye automatically goes to the point of highest contrast. Bluring that is actually a neat idea to avoid that problem a little. Sure feel free to post you version!

Hi David-

I am not suggesting that
you crop the picture,
I cut it down only to get
the file size smaller.

sammy -   {K:4108} 10/6/2005
Hi David-

I took out the little white
dot with scratch remover tool.
It is/was close to the
catchlights in her eyes and
competed for attention.

Hi David-

There are a few more
really nitpicky things
I would personally do.
I can tell/show you here
or by e-mail if you are
interested.

Love the hair in the face and how she's holding onto the swing. Her smile is so contagious, I love this shot!

Happy face of the child! What else do you need?
