Excellent shot Tabitha! The black feathers are superb! And the water beads - love it! We have white swans (mute & trumpeter) that winter here - in below 20C temperature. There's a swan club who counts them (the tagged ones) and they feed them, and I go and take pictures every winter. They are gorgeous birds.

Thanks Ina, yeh I was amazed at how flexible their necks really are!! I got afew shots of them doing swan yoga!!:O) It was Peter MacDonald's(UF member) idea to call in an see them before the rugby game we were covering, he brought a loaf of bread and i got real keen and tried to hand feed.. their eyesight aint so great! Jacquie Lindsay(UF member) got pics of me jus pulling my hand away after being bitten! that pic is in her folio. Good idea about the edit address and i have done that now :O)

Such an incredibly gorgeous bird! Nicely composed and beautiful colors!
*I had always heard swans were very mean fowl! How you weren't hurt too bad!

S-wanderful capture Tabitha ;-)
Excellent detail and colours also - but hand feeding and getting bitten by swans in nothing until you try the same with an ostrich. I have a few piccies of these beasties that me and my brother were feeding. I was doing ok until he put a piece of bread on my head ... no wonder I am nearly bald lol

Stunning shot of this beautiful black swan whose details and colouring look awesome. I love the bold crop to your composition. Well done. I first discovered black swans over here in the UK in one of the lakes in Kew Gardens about 40years ago; I have never seen any anywhere else. Well done to you Tabitha.....Best wishes...Ray
