bellissima atmosfera quasi fiabesca.

Raffaele P.   {K:1029} 10/15/2005
Excellent fog sense, very good moment captured and general sensation transmitted by the athmosphere! Best compliments!

Paul Lara   {K:77064} 10/15/2005
oh wow.
the faintly visible clouds, golden on the horizon really elevates this shot for me, as a nice contrast to the soft ground-fog, Carsten. Tack-sharp and well done.

David Hofmann   {K:23827} 10/15/2005
frozen beef :)
Beuatiful atmosphere, I love shots with lots of fog and light coming through.
Did you add the light falloff in the corners? It looks a little more than normal. Maybe increasing the contrast also increased the effect.

Carsten Ranke   {K:14453} 10/15/2005
Hi David - I got cold fingers, indeed, this morning :-) BTW, the first time I got through with raising before dawn @ the weekend...
No vignette, the lens has light falloff @ 10 mm, and maybe the contrast from the "S" curve.

Cheers

Carsten

György Szönyi   {K:8347} 10/15/2005
Very beautiful, lyrical picture, Carsten. The extremely fine gradation of the fog is really amazing. Even with this small size no pixels can be felt. Regards, Gyorgy

Chris Spracklen   {K:32552} 10/15/2005
Outstanding, Carsten!
No other word for it!!
Best regards, Chris

Thilo Bayer   {K:50301} 10/15/2005
Hi Carsten,

very cool stuff, my friend. the mood is really extraordinary here. the wide angle realls adds to the scene. love that hint of snow/wetness on the grass and that mysterious fog. maybe a pure bw version would work as well?

best wishes,
Thilo

Beth Sternal   {K:420} 10/15/2005
Great composition! There is something about cows. They always seem to pose just right for the camera. :-)

Well done!

Carsten Ranke   {K:14453} 10/16/2005
Thilo, thanks for stopping by ! I tried a B&W, and a color/ B&W composite, but here I prefer the color version.

Carsten Ranke   {K:14453} 10/16/2005
...

Carsten Ranke   {K:14453} 10/16/2005
Beth, you are right, but those cows were a bit uncooperative.

Don Loseke   {K:32494} 10/16/2005
A beautiful scene Carsten. The fog makes such wonderful things to photograph. Nice work. Don.

ricardo longhi-frantz   {K:9648} 10/17/2005
wow!! this is a masterpiece! loved the extremely fine assymetric balance, the very effective perspective and the wonderful mood created by the fog and the soft lighting. the colors are simply perfect, specially the most subtle touch of gold in the horizon! great job Carsten!

ricardo longhi-frantz   {K:9648} 10/17/2005
ps: loved to know this other side of your skill! very good variation from those strong, imposing and dramatic landscapes. not that they were bad pics in any way, on contrary, i love that style of yours, a very intersting and unique one, but if i may express my feelings, i think that too much of that power all the time can become a bit overwhelmig and tiresome. good to see that you can create masterpieces in this gentle, relaxing and tender way too! best wishes!

osvaldo rima   {K:6862} 10/17/2005
Excellent work Carsten !! I like it....ect. ect.
See you...
Os

Carsten Ranke   {K:14453} 10/18/2005
Thank you very much for your encouraging comments !
It was kind of experiment, and my family perceives me as kind of freaky bloke, getting up before dawn on saturday, shooting cows on a meadow ;-) But its really worth the effort, I will make another tour in the first light
Cheers
Carsten

Peter De Rycke   {K:37448} 10/18/2005
Beautiful, the sunlit mist is so great to see, the treegroup in the distance popping over the mist is a great element .. Peter

good stuff Carsten, beautiful misty scene..
Giorgio

Aram Gharib   {K:4062} 10/22/2005
Very nice composition, Dear Carsten.

The master word is indeed "serenity". The colors are very subtle but without them the whole great mood of the picture goes away: the dawn is the mere transition of B&W to CO; it's very well captured here.

Congratulations and thanks for sharing.

Roberto Arcari Farinetti   {K:176321} 10/22/2005

Mary Brown   {K:67308} 10/31/2005
I love the way you have captured the delicate mist of early morning with the dew on the grass, then in the background the hint of sunlight breaking through. It has a very gentle feeling to it.

Laurie McIntosh   {K:958} 11/27/2005
Wonderful details in this foggy scene. I guess that's the reward for using RAW. Great work Carsten.

andree lerat   {K:16731} 11/28/2005
You were very close to the cows... Yet they don't seem to mind. Beautiful composition. Very moody. :) Andree
