Great shot. I really like the stocking cap. What part of Washington are you from?. I'm Burlington/Bellingham

Nice portrait Sheila! Did you add the grainy texture to this? I really like the crop!

Nice tight crop Sheila. The grainy texture looks really good here. The unwavering gaze is perfect.

Fantastic shot, adorable subject she has the face of an angel.

Hi Kathy- The grainy effect is from the 400 speed black and white film I used. The 400 speed film tends to be pretty grainy, but I think it works well with black and white film. It sort of gives the picture an old time feel. Thanks for your nice comments!

Gorgeous eyes brilliantly captured in this portrait. I like the slight tilt to the head. The crop is spot on and the textures throughout add extra interest...Very well taken....warm wishes..Ray

Sheila, you are portrait photographer through and through. This one is the best of the series. You have beautiful kids too.

Question, how do you get the little brats to pose as mine won't no matter what? I have two sons who run even before I get the camera out of the bag!!!

Sheila Carson   {K:5830} 10/25/2005
I think that the key word that you used is boys! As you can see, I have more photos of my daughter than my son. He does literally run away whenever I pull the camera out. I find it easier to capture a good shot of him with my longer lens so that I'm not right up in his face with my camera.

My daughter, on the other hand, is hit and miss. If she's feeling like she wants the attention and wants to act like a "movie star", then she'll pose for me. The only problem is that she usually won't pose for very long so I always have to hurry and hope that I get a good shot.

You could always use the bribery method. I've been known to hand out a piece of candy or two after a photo shoot!

Good luck!
