About Subject background: Well, perhaps this guy was a lucky one in a historic perspective =)

Next in my tribute tour list is Linda Fuentes. She does a lot of different pictures: abstract, classic landscape and macros. Check out her portfolio right here:

PS concept: Some work on levels and toning (for the aged look).

Oh wow! Thank you Thilo, so kind of you, and a surprise too, this is such a nice image, gave me a laugh because he really looks like he's scratching his head and thinking..."oh geez, I've really done it now" hahaha...great work as always, a very effective image telling the story and a perfect title...excellent tones, really a very funny image, and of course, this has to go in my favs...thank you, very thoughtful of you Thilo, hugs..Linda

Nice humour title Thilo!
What works for me in this shot is the composing. Maybe it's just my way of thinking, It seems that because you have chosen portrait instead of a landscape format, there is more of a sense of the man missing the boat. You can more imagine the boat moving by a window because the bow and stern are missing from the image. If the boat were further back and the whole ship was in the picture, the image would not have had the required mood for the title.
Another great job!
Andre

NN     {K:26787} 10/20/2005
LOL, great title When I see this picture, I think of how scenes like this used to look like long ago. So many people waving goodbye, nowadays you hardly see anybody ... Nice tones - a great dedication to a good friend, a superb commenter and a great photographer :)

Gayle's Eclectic Photos   {K:91033} 10/20/2005
ha! good one for our friend,Linda...like the man but wonder if the white thing seen between his legs is the boat, then what is the rounder black thing that looks kinda weird?...sorry,just can't figure it out!...good job with the tone, crop and contrast level,Thilo....hugs,gayle
(if you have your adult filter on,check out my posting for tonight which is a first for me ;>)

Hi, funy concept, nice composition. The photo has good detail and sharpness, maybe with some grain and scratch addition the photo would seem even older. Regards, Alper.

Burak Tanriover   {K:16604} 10/20/2005
I like the mood a lot. it would maybe better to allow a wider space on the top instead of the bottom.
all the best.
Burak

Hi Burak,

your idea is good. unfortunately, this was one of the shots where you have 1-2 seconds and then the subject is gone. =)

best wishes, Thilo
