Yeah Don, you nailed this one. Did you by chance get up to Schultz Pass? The inner basin up there is magnificent. Do you have a web site? I'd sure like to see more of your work from this part of the state.

good foreground and excellent use of colour with the trees - you have great subject matter out there

No George I don't have a web site. I have posted some of these recently so you can see them in my Portfolio. We didn't get to Schultz pass, we went back into town and them around to Hart Prarie road and traveled that some 10 miles. I think it is all over there by now. We are going to Sedona next week and up West Fork of Oak Creek Canyon. Thanks for looking. Don.

Hey Don - dinged this right into my favorites. Do like your composition and the colors are super. I like the way the old log (deadwood) is aligned in your shot so that it is aimed in the same direction as the road. Almost as if it is pointing the way. The hills on the right and left frame the mountain really well. The whole shot is balanced has lots of interesting angles, and nice movement. Well done. Jan

Looks like Colorado, stunning natural beauty captured.

Mark Kresl   {K:9434} 10/21/2005
Really nice scene, Don. I like how the dead wood in the foreground adds such scale to the depth of the scene. Something I need to keep in mind when composing shots. I like the effect of the polarizer as well.

What a nice place! I like the log in the foreground. There's the story of the tree's life cycle here with the young, old, and dead trees.

Chris Spracklen   {K:32552} 10/21/2005
Another gorgeous landscape, Don!
I like the way the polariser is beefing up the colours a little.
Best regards, Chris

Gary Dyck   {K:11982} 10/21/2005
great all around shot. I suppose the only "glitch" might be to clone out that little dot (flying bird?) in the sky, but that's just a very minor thing. You've got a great portfolio too. Cheers, Gary

Don Loseke   {K:32503} 10/21/2005
Thanks Gary, I saw that dust bunny after this was posted and did not take it out. I have a 13X19 print of this and the dust is gone... Thanks for your comments. Don.

Wonderful Photograph Don, Great Colors and Clarity. Very well presented. Ye, but it's the cycle of life... Death in nature nourishes the living...

Thanks for sharing,

Nice and sharp - I like the dead tree as foreground interest and your polarizer has really brought out that ble sky.
I like your round cornered inner frame too.

Ann Nida   {K:45230} 10/23/2005
This is a wonderful image Don. The clarity and detail is excellent as is the log on the foreground. Beautifully composed and captured. Straight into my faves. Cheers - Ann :)
