About I have acquaired some of Mr. Ellison's work as he was a self trained photographer. He lived from 1902 until 1966. I have done a lot of research on him and he was quiet a character, having stayed on the wrong side of the law during most of his career. This original photo was probably taken by his sister, who passed away in 1997 at the age of 96. They both are buried side by side in a very poor cemetery within only 100's of feet from where he worked furiously at his craft. Keep in mind this was taken about 25 years of age and original is in fair condition. I have scanned and retouched as much as possible.
Some of his work is posted on site. His prints finally are in demand, including those that were convascated by "law" officials in 1930's for obscenity. But they are very hard to find. I own about five of his fine arts and a few commercial works.
