I like this image. Often we tell that the subject in a central position is wrong. this is often a true position. here we have a subject in a position central but have a tree on the top border and a line in the lower left corner. hence I think that there is a good composition. I like the tone of the shot.
best regards

I can hear the direction to the dog during the 5 second exposure... Stay... stay... stay... Good dog! :-)

Hi Bea,

an extraordinary portrait =) Maybe a bit static overall, but it's probably not easy to bring in dynamics with a pinhole =) The great distance to the subject makes the portrait even more intense IMHO-

best wishes,
Thilo

abhra aich   {K:8452} 10/25/2005
great composition and posture ,though the subject looks a bit out of focus to me.

Bea Friedli   {K:9816} 10/25/2005
lol ! thanks..it wasn't easy at all !! he got 40 bones for it !! no kidding..how else would he stay like that ?

Ann Texter   {K:10058} 10/25/2005
I think he's looking for a ..... duck! lol!

Bea Friedli   {K:9816} 10/25/2005

Bea Friedli   {K:9816} 10/25/2005
thanks Thilo !

Bea Friedli   {K:9816} 10/25/2005
thanks Abhra ! the subject is a bit out of focus because it's really hard to get a dog to stay still for more than 10 seconds..got lots of bones to take this..lol

Bea Friedli   {K:9816} 10/25/2005
nope..wabbit ! lol
do you know that the dog actually ate some bunnies ?? how sad !!

Paul Boocock   {K:8314} 10/25/2005
I like this a lot Bea, I can see movement in the trees but very little in the dog - the perfect model. I love the tonal range which gives it a classic feel free of artifice. Good stuff.
Hope you've stocked up on Agfa film, it wont be around for much longer!

Bea Friedli   {K:9816} 10/25/2005
thanks Paul ! I know..how sad..I love my agfa too !! boohoo :(

Ciprian Ilie   {K:13215} 10/26/2005
Good boy! What sort of exposures do you normally use with these pin holes cameras? I am surprised not to see any motion blur.

Regards,
Ciprian

very nice mode

Alper Tecer   {K:7002} 10/29/2005
Excellent work. Incredible because I usually expect stationary compositions with a pinhole camera. This dog must be a perfect model. regards.

Bea Friedli   {K:9816} 11/2/2005
thank you !!

Bea Friedli   {K:9816} 11/2/2005
hi Ciprian ! took at least 12 seconds. and about 40 bones !! stay stay stay..wasn't easy ! I have about 10 shots that you can barely see the dog ! lol

Bea Friedli   {K:9816} 11/3/2005

Bea Friedli   {K:9816} 11/3/2005

Mark Beltran   {K:32612} 11/12/2005
You got a dog to pose for a pinhole photo? That's quite an accomplishment!

Bea Friedli   {K:9816} 11/12/2005
thanks Mark ! yup..Stella is a great dog. I love her ! She listens so well. however..I still ended up giving her 40 mini bones ! lol I have alot of images either without her in it or really blurred !

Mark Beltran   {K:32612} 11/12/2005
40 mini bones, that's pretty good pay! LOLOL.

Carol Watson   {K:5185} 11/19/2005

Bea Friedli   {K:9816} 11/20/2005

Carol Watson !! woohoo !!

Omar Rifaat   {K:10135} 12/21/2005
Great one! Not easy to get him to sit there I'll bet!!
I loke the dead center effect. Along with the droppy ear, it kind of brings a certain akward feeling out. 'How long to I hae to perch here? I'm not a parakeet!'
Omar
