On which side of the gate can I meet Autumn? I seem to miss The Lady so much!
Lovely shot, dear Ina!!! My style, with very beautiful coulours and texture. Like the way the gate is pinpointed with those barren branches intricately woven over it. The rest fades away into the vegetation.The carpet of leaves is lighting up the whole image.

Ina, I posted this comment but it didn't come thru! Don't know what happened but I hope you don't get it twice.
Gorgeous colors and clarity! Lots of facinating textures here! I love the bare vines and leafy floor with such arresting color. I think the DOF is working well for you in this composition. When I first saw it I thought perhaps I would like to see a bit more DOF, but on second thought that might make the complex texture too much for the eye and jumble it.
In looking at this I got to wondering if adding a subtle gradient of bloack-to-transparent from right-to-left with low opacity might help highlight the left side by dulling the right slightly, helping to focus attention on the bare vines. So I took the liberty, just for fun...

I do like it Mark, it could use a bit of darker background, I've never used gradients before, in this case it gives it a more moody look, something new! I'm using probably less than half of what Photoshop has to offer, I'll have to try this feature in the future. Thanks for takingthetime to do this, I really like it! Ina

I LOVE THIS INA!!! I love the leaves, I love the gate, I love the vines growing over the gate to give it that unused feel, and I love the dof! (Other than that I can't think of anything I like about it :)) Great shot! Congrats!

This is a wonderful photo Ina. The gate is definitely doing it's job....doesn't look like it's let anyone in for ages...the vine wrapped around the the thick leaves testify to that! Nice perspective that you've chosen as well.
(What Mark did is interesting too...I like both.)

Ina, I see you did not rest but took an advantage of a couple of rainy days in Southern Ontario to shoot great colorful images. I love this spot Ina. The colors are very nice. I was reading what mark wrote about the gradiant dark to light work and I actually can't see a drastic difference. Maybe if the pictures were next to each other. Anyway, this is very lovely.
