beautiful composition and DOF and nice grain (tu quoque...). the objects displayed here are curiously assorted, i think! maybe it's just my ignorance, but i didn't expect such a limited DOF at f/1.7...

Yes - it certainly was. Maybe a little explanation of what the exhibit was all about would be useful. It was a aural exhibit - sounds played from different locations throughout the hall, pretty fun actually. Along the walls of the hall were pieces from the gallery's collection selected by the Korean artist who created the main exhibit...
