Susie OConnor   {K:34798} 10/28/2005
Sweet photo. The look in her eyes says "See ya!" I bet she took off right after this one was snapped.
Nice lighting...a bit grainy which works here..thumbs up!

thanks a lot Shawn! I'm pretty much in the Nikon saddle since I have some "investment" in Nikon lenses. But if you end up getting that Minolta, let me know I think that is in many ways a very interesting camera. And the fact that Sony and Minolta are now working together sound very promising for the future.

Just another question.
How do you convert to B&W? Paint shop or do you use a plug-in (i.e. SilverOxide)?

David Hofmann   {K:23830} 10/28/2005
B&W conversion is a big thing since digital. Everyone does its own little magic. Most people try to find "the best" Photoshop action to convert to B&W, I tried many different ways and ended up doing every photo by hand myself. But basically I use the channel mixer and then the curve editor and finally add some sepia toning.

Nice sharp focus! Tones fit the mood of the photo perfectly.
She looks like she is ready for some serious exploring!

Angela Freed   {K:10061} 10/28/2005
I like it. Great DOF too. Maybe a smidgen busy in the background but it really looks fine. I like the cute expression you captured as well.

Superb capture, David.
What a great camera / lens combination you have and how well you make the most of it.
Kind regards, Chris

I think it's beautiful. I can't find anything that I don't like about it. I like the DOF because it keeps her the main focus and doesn't lead your eyes anywhere else but to her. The lighting is nice and soft and she's just too cute!

Beverly Bodishbaugh   {K:1576} 10/28/2005
Amazing DOF once again! Must be that lens!! :)

Trish McCoy   {K:20979} 10/29/2005

Larissa Nazarova   {K:12212} 10/29/2005
Wow! It's excellent! Great dof, , so light, vivid moody sunny capture!
Larissa
