Fall colors are almost gone...keep those shots coming!!!
This is really nice, Ina. I love the way that you have created texture with focus. The colors don't change, but, because the dof is shallow you have created two distinct layers of the same color. I don't know if this is making any sense at all, but the bottom line is...this is really nice! :))))

Thanks Kathy, I have cropped my reds from a larger picture, tried to squeeze out any other colors to leave only the reds in. Wish I had used a tripod, but I was standing in a ditch for this one - LOL.

Hi Endre, This is not one of the sharpest pictures I've made :) It is cropped from a larger picture to show only the reds, and I had the dilemma: if I USM'd too much, the background became spotty, and I wanted it blurred, so I found a middle ground... Red indeed. The world is on fire! Hi Ina, such a nice layering idea here, composing the near within the shadow of the far with the DOF completing the layered accent. Beautiful textures. Another winner!

Very creative use of the DOF, Ina. But IMO the sharp leaves on the right side are not distinctive enough. The color seems to dominate, if not tyrannize the picture. My heart bends for the "peaches". Warm regards, György

Hi Gyuri, thanks for the comment. This one wasn't meant to contrast, it was meant to be just red on red, more or less DOF. I had a more contrasting version (see below), but I thought it was too cliche:

Yes, yes, Ina. Although I have not only darkened the background but on a background selection I have applied the "Dark strokes" effect which has also resulted in more blur; and then with an inverse selection I have tried to add more contrast to the foreground leaves. Cheers, Gyuri
