the long exposure gives it the silky finish, I assume......... that, the light, and the rich color make it a really captivating image.......... those eyes don't hurt either :)

Excelente retrato!. La luz es fantástica.
Felicitaciones!

Erik Neldner   {K:10896} 11/1/2005
thanks john! the silky finish comes from both the long exposure (hand held) and the NIK filter used with the Nikon Capture Editor program.
cheers,
erik

Wonderful picture with the great contrasted colors and very well handled natural light. Agresive but stable composition. I like the smoothnes and the tone of the skin. It's a picture with the flair. Very skilled postprocessing. n.j

Very nice Erik, the soft warm light and angle of light reminds me of a 40's movie, good work, and a pretty model, hope you had fun! Cary

gayle,
thanks! the nik filters are for post-production. they come as plug-ins for either photoshop or nikon capture. i use them in nikon capture, as i have the ability to build it into my RAW adjustments.
cheers,
erik

thanks janet. i kinda wish her face was a bit sharper, but it's the feel of this one, not the technique i guess.
