About About 100 to 150 years ago this section of the Madawaska River would have been jammed solid with thousands of logs being floated to the rapids, one mile below this spot. I for one am glad the lumber industry is not booming here any longer.

Great diagonal in the composition. Congrats.

Very beautiful shot Andre. Interesting story behind it as well. I can picture the logs all jammed in there floating down the river. This is a much prettier view!

Thanks for all your support Richard.
This area is just about a half mile from our cottage on the Madawaska River. It's off Highway 515, in between two small towns. Combermere and Palmer Rapids. Haliburton Highlands.

Hi Andre, I echo your sentiments on this.
This is a lovely composition. Those gorgeous Autumnal colours, a lovely diagonal expanse of water with a final natural frame in the backround.
Well spotted and taken, best wishes...Ray

Hi Ray,
Thanks for the comments on this one. It is a pretty special spot for me. It is about a half a mile from our summer cottage (my dad built it with a local farmer in 1963) I've experienced over 40 years of good times withing a three mile radius of this spot.

Thanks Endre,
In another week or two, it will be very grey in this scene. After that... very white.:)

Gorgeous image Andre! And I'm glad it's not jammed with logs, but even if it was I'm sure you'd figure out how to make it look beautiful!

Darlene,
Come to think of it, a log jammed river can a very dramatic image :)
But then I wouldn't be able to paddle my kayak.
Andre
