About Keeping with the purple color, the first in a new series of dew drops. The season is still nice up here, and I got lots of nature shots before winter sets in... My Canon is not working properly and I reverted once more to my Panasonic FZ-10. These are all 4MP JPEG's, handheld, slow shutter (1/80), late afternoon lighting.

monster photo! great image, ina!!

Endre Novak   {K:12534} 11/3/2005
In any case, shame to Canon non L lenses the Panasonic (out)performs nicely in respect of pic quality, - hardware wise.
Nice work, nice lights on the droplets, and good crop. Like the classic diagonal of the leaf.
Congrats,
Endre

Brian Fillmore   {K:4016} 11/3/2005
Very eye catching photograph. I like the angle of the leaf swooping down to the bottom right corner of the picture. How the drops of water seem magnified on top of this leaf adds a magical look. All the detail of the other plants really stand out and make this an excellent capture.

Margaret Sturgess   {K:49403} 11/3/2005
Magical colouring, lovely droplets in an excellent composition
Margaret

Ina Nicolae   {K:44481} 11/3/2005
Gee, thanks Marco :)

Ina Nicolae   {K:44481} 11/3/2005
Thanks Endre, the Panasonic has a Leica lens made in Japan. It is much slower than a SLR, but it's efortless.

Ina Nicolae   {K:44481} 11/3/2005
Thanks Brian. Yesterday we were in the park, and while going to take another picture of the waterfalls, I found this field of dew covered leaves, I'm not exaggerating, there was one on every square foot, it seemed. It was magical. I just had to stoop very low to get the lighting at almost 1-2 ft. above the ground. But it was a good exercise :)

Ina Nicolae   {K:44481} 11/3/2005
Thanks Margaret, I've got a bunch of these - as I said to Brian Fillmore, I came across a whole field of dew covered leaves, one every square foot. I was like a kid in a candy store :) And I didn't even have to get up early for this! It was about 5 or 6 PM, at sunset.

Yahya El Hosafy   {K:8366} 11/4/2005
wow
amazing Ina, very superb water, the touch of blue takes the photo to another mood, a touch of mitallic silver color.
seems like a very promising series.
well done.

Bob Walker   {K:1066} 11/4/2005
Beautiful shot, Ina. Really cool the way the lighting highlights the magnified detail of the leaf below.

Best regards,
Bob

Ina Nicolae   {K:44481} 11/4/2005
Thank you Neal, there's a whole series, again. At least these are easier on the eyes than abstracts!

Susie OConnor   {K:34798} 11/4/2005
You have a steady hand Ina! This is lovely. I'm looking forward to the new series. Great job on lighting and focus too.

Rashed Abdulla   {K:154604} 11/4/2005
Magic ,great and so beautiful capture, all of this wonderful lighting and details and the effect makes this image perfect and so atractive to view, very best regards my good friend

Ann Nida   {K:45230} 11/4/2005
The detail in this is fantastic Ina. The composition is perfect in my eyes. I love the purple veins in the leaves and the water droplets look like drops of mercury to me. (hey at least they don't look like sequins. :) Look forward to seeing more water images. Cheers - Ann :)

Ina Nicolae   {K:44481} 11/4/2005
But, but... Ann, they ARE SEQUINS!
Nah, just kidding! Thanks for the laugh :)

Ann Nida   {K:45230} 11/4/2005
Oh mate you had me for a second there. How funny. I was about to check myself into a funny farm for seeing things that aren't there. :)

Cheers - Ann :)

Thanks Zeev :)

Aram Gharib   {K:4122} 11/4/2005
Great composition.

Gray purple leaves look like tired and agonising under the mercury cold drops of nobody knows what; a little bit of light and green here and there recall the Life that is watching, impotent, the pressure in the veins... A noble tragedy!

Very nice work. Congratulations and looking forward the coming series. Cheers.

Jason Mardell   {K:1113} 11/4/2005
Very very nice. You must have a steady hand too!

Gabriela Tanaka   {K:17991} 11/4/2005
WOW! WOW! WOW! The colour of that leaf!!!How interesting the presentation, half with the dew drop pattern and the other half...some tears only!Do you think Autumn cried with only one eye?
Gabriela

Gust@vo Sch3v3rin   {K:121677} 11/4/2005
Impresionante esta nueva serie sobre las gotas de agua.
Felicitaciones!

Stefan Engström   {K:24473} 11/4/2005
The purple color is really nice. I think maybe the flashes of green around the edges do not help you. Funny how things are relative: I'm usually pretty happy when I can get 1/80 s! It depends on the focal length of course but 1/30 s of a second is when I really start to try bracing and go looking for my tripod :-)

Linda Bique   {K:74033} 11/4/2005
I Love the purple color, the diagonal in your composition, and the wonderful water drops. Very well taken Ina, especially hand-held in low light...well focused with excellent details...nice work..Linda

Ahmed Ismail   {K:19853} 11/5/2005
Nice composition with the leaf going diagonally. The magnified feel from the drops are very nice. Beautiful shot Ina.

Ina Nicolae   {K:44481} 11/5/2005
Thanks Ahmed, I am happy to read your comments, this is just a quick Thank You note!

Thanks dear Robert for your nice comments, I may have a few more of these.

Ina Nicolae   {K:44481} 11/5/2005
This is another great observation of yours, Aram, I had thought of mercury, too - but the veins? Wow! Now That is fantastic! Thank you! And I left the green grass on purpose, I saw it, could clone it out, but I left it in. Thanks for taking the time to comment - great insight!

Ina Nicolae   {K:44481} 11/5/2005
Thanks Linda for your nice comments, and have a great week-end! Ina

Mark Longo   {K:12757} 11/6/2005
I love the colros in this one. The light is magical and the drops look like mercury or some other silvery fluid. A bit surreal, which I like, and all the more so with the purple color and cool lighting. Great work with a 4Mpix camera. Very sharp. The deatil in your other droplet shots with this camera are very amazing also, regardless of the hardware you use to capture. Just goes to show, it's the artist that matters, not the gear! Great stuff Ina!

Mark

Ina Nicolae   {K:44481} 11/6/2005
Just a quick thanks, Mark for your nice comments :) I shall be invisible until late Monday night/ Tuesday, I have some other deadlines... and more dew drops... I'm not finished with this series, just a bit under the gun right now!

Ina Nicolae   {K:44481} 11/11/2005
What a fantastic and poetic idea, Gabriela! Only a poet would think of something like this. I read it and remembered it. Thanks for the great comment!

Ina Nicolae   {K:44481} 11/11/2005
Hi Stefan, and thanks for your comments. I'm a bit behind in my replies. Re: the grass - I left it in for color, first I took it out, and it looked sort of dead - colorwise - w/out it. Best regards, Ina
