About A regular 'postcard' shot... Love the 'packed' feeling you get by looking at the way the houses are build almost on top of each other... ;-D!! The streets are really very narrow... if there's a car approaching you have to squeeze yourself against a wall especially if the car is a little bigger then a Panda, Smart or another compact.... LOL!!! BTW been all the way to the top of the rock (no you can't do that by car....)... maybe I'll put a shot from up there up here as well... ;-D!!

'A Regular Postcard Shot' ... How humble or arrogant ... !:))

very good.

Petal Wijnen   {K:47829} 11/5/2005
I wasn't being arrogant, because this is more or less how you can find Cefalu on (some) postcards.... and there's one cafe/restaurant just out of the shot to the left.... and I found some around the church square..... ;-D!!!

It looks like a wonderful place for a holiday, Petal.
Beautiful shot of these squashed up houses.
Best regards, Chris

Mooi stadje Petal.......de stad waar iedereen met rubberen laarzen( bottekes) door de straten strompelt bij vloed. ;0)
Verbazend wat een mooie foto's te nemen zijn met zo'n ixus. De belichting was zeer goed.

This really is a beautiful postcard shot indeed. I love this scene and that's quite a climb up that hill. Wonderful clarity and composition in this image. Did you take this shot from a boat in the water. Great shot Petal. Cheers - Ann :)

Petal Wijnen   {K:47829} 11/6/2005
Nope.... there was a kind of pier/harbour wall (but no real harbour.. ;-D) sticking out into the sea and I walked all the way to the end and the top of it... for it was higher on one side.... just hoping that no big wave was going to sweep me off.... LOL. But as you can see I could chance it for the sea was very calm.... ;-D!!!

Beautiful looking setting my dear Petal and the information provided, most interesting. I bet your shot is far superior to the shop-bought postcards. It is a lovely composition full of interesting details and soft colours.. Wee done. Best wishes to you...Ray

You're right, Petal...this is a postcard shot! Very pretty! I was taken by the close feeling here, too. Not only how close they are to each other, but how close they appear to be to that rock! Well done!
Kathy
Thanks for the bday greeting, and for the comment. Both are very much appreciated!

Margaret Sturgess   {K:49403} 11/9/2005
Great composition Petal, I liked the 'packed feeling' too but of the layers - of colours, adn the change of texture from sea, to the houses, the rock and the sky
Margaret
