Hi Ina! I get the feeling she is looking curiously out of the window, that fabric representing the curtain. Very creative, beautiful and artsy stuff with gorgeous tones; congrats!

Beautiful effect Ina, lovely composition, well done!

Ann Nida   {K:45230} 11/10/2005
My goodness Ina you've excelled yourself. this is brilliant. Very creative combining your other ideas with new ones to form this new and amnazing piece of art. It brings to mind some yesteryear ghostly image of the past in another dimension> Actually reminds me of a movie with Jane Seymour and Christopher Reeves where he goes back into the past to meet the love of his life who he falls in love with through photos in his own time. Your images inspire my imagination. Very creative and imaginative work. Well done Ina. I love it.

Thank you also for commenting on my iamges. I appreciate the time you take. Your comments are always so well thought out and make for such interesting reading.

Cheers - Ann :)

Kathy Hillard   {K:25721} 11/10/2005
These two layers work sooooo well together, Ina! You have created not only a vintage feel here, but a feeling of mystery....with the lady gazing through the gauzy material. Very creative and I really like it!
Kathy

Andrzej Pradzynski   {K:21177} 11/10/2005
Ina, what a gaze, what a mesh (spell check OK) and what a great picture. The vintage squared effect achieved by adding the diffusive softnes of the veil and a noble reachness of the metalic glaze. Additional elegant touch from seasoning effect of the sepia. Gotta be a tribute to somebody very close to you, eh.
Anyway something new and great in your collection. A picture with the style.

Cheers, n.j

Ina Nicolae   {K:44481} 11/10/2005
Hi Andrzej, and thanks for the nice comments :) It's not a tribute to anybody, it's a vintage photo (free of copyrights) of an unknown woman - and the mesh. Glad you like it! I'm having fun with these, for a change.

Ina Nicolae   {K:44481} 11/10/2005
Thank you Gustavo :) Some PS work for a change.

Ina Nicolae   {K:44481} 11/10/2005
Thanks, aLi for your nice comments!

Ina Nicolae   {K:44481} 11/10/2005
Thanks Jezabel, really happy to be picked a favorite by you :)

Ina Nicolae   {K:44481} 11/10/2005
Thanks Kiarang, but I didn't make this portrait - it's a vintage photo, I just combined it with my picture of the fabric. Glad you like it! Regards, Ina

Ina Nicolae   {K:44481} 11/10/2005
Thanks dear Robert, I don't know if it's a new style, I thought of trying something different (for me). I'm glad you like it! Regards, Ina

Ina Nicolae   {K:44481} 11/10/2005
Thanks for your nice comments, Elisa :) The fabric mesh gave me the idea of an opening, you're absolutely right, it acts as a curtain!

Neal Nye   {K:15827} 11/11/2005
The cropping and the composition are so effective. What a great idea. And so well carried out.

Ina Nicolae   {K:44481} 11/11/2005
Thanks Neal, I'll probably try more as soon I find some suitable vintage photos. Maybe I'll use some of my own family pictures from the 20's.

Shady Adly   {K:7814} 11/11/2005
Beautiful photo and lovely colours.
Very pretty art work.
My compliment!

Ina Nicolae   {K:44481} 11/11/2005
Thanks again, Shady.

Gabriela Tanaka   {K:17991} 11/11/2005
This is so beautiful, so full of emotion that it hurts!Expectation written all over the woman's face extends to the veil. The veil is so impatient that it's got a cleavage... What a charged atmosphere!
My dear Friend, your talent is simply BLOOMING!!! Love from Gabriela

Ina Nicolae   {K:44481} 11/11/2005
Thank you so much for your ever perceptive comments, Gabriela. I'm exploring the possibilities of the veil - in various instances, such as this one. There is a whole theory that goes with the metaphor of the veil, you seem to know it, so I'm really glad you recognized it in my pictures. Actually, with layers in PS I can express more than just through my unprocessed pictures. I'm pretty excited about these possibilities. Love, Ina

Aram Gharib   {K:4095} 11/12/2005
Very creative and inspiring composition. The veil and the curiosity in her look are so dramatic. The viewer feels her/himself as THE OBJECT at the focal point of the attention. Something to be discovered by this Madame Curie, Colette or Agatha Cristie of the other side...

Excellence and simplicity. Loved it. Thanks for sharing.

György Szönyi   {K:8347} 11/13/2005
Very exciting experiment, Ina, I definitely like it. This is what cultural theory calls the polivalence of meaning, you look at it and your associations shoot out in dozens of directions. Not only the concept is good, but also the fine technology and the good painterly quality. I am looking forward to the continuations (I already see some among the thumbnails). Cheers, Gyuri

Ed Babcock   {K:651} 11/15/2005
Very nicely done. I love the softness and mystery. Ed

Ina Nicolae   {K:44481} 11/15/2005
Thanks Gyuri, it's a fantastic concept. That's exactly what I'm after! What a wonderful perfect way of describing it! Thank you! I was away from UF for a short while, I'll be catching up with you!

Ina Nicolae   {K:44481} 11/19/2005
Thanks again for yet another great comment, Aram. I really enjoy reading your wonderful interpretations. Some of my new layered series have meanings, some don't (are just for fun). This one is a personal favorite of mine. I'm digging into my Art Theory books :) Regards, Ina
