Delightful image, Bea!
The delicate beauty of the dress contrasts nicely with the rather rugged backdrop.
Best regards, Chris

Carlheinz Bayer   {K:14220} 11/12/2005
Oho!!! This is a new side!...but an interesting one! Excellent work, Bea.
I hate to be technical, but as you know I have a reason for it. 80mm and Kodak?

CB

Steve Aronoff   {K:21276} 11/12/2005
The composition, tones, and palette are all terrific. I have a hard time connecting with a person in that dress posed from the back in that particular setting.

c c   {K:13446} 11/12/2005
Truly priceless....wow!

Ann Texter   {K:10058} 11/12/2005
beautiful! Was she going somewhere fancy?

Bea Friedli   {K:9816} 11/12/2005
thanks Charisse !

Bea Friedli   {K:9816} 11/12/2005
hey Carlheinz ! thanks..! yes..Hasselblad...80mm..kodak portra. I like it for the skin tones (nc). but..I have to tell you that the Fuji NPZ rocks in color ! not great for natural skin tones persay but super otherwise.
The 80 can still get in much closer too. need to be about a 2 feet for focus though.
thanks
Bill has the 50mm and 120. Those are super lenses too. I think maybe I'll borrow them again !

Bea Friedli   {K:9816} 11/12/2005
thanks Steve ! I think it's hard to connect because it doesn't really fit right. why I kind of like the unusualness of it. thanks !

Steve Aronoff   {K:21276} 11/12/2005
If you're after unusual, you've succeeded admirably. Honestly, I like the photo a lot. I'm just not sure that unusual for its own sake is very interesting. It is fun, however. And it is good to shake up the status quo every once in a while.

Greg Scott   {K:1990} 11/12/2005
While I agree with Steve that unusual just for the sake of unusual is often a trick that untalented people rely on to get noticed, I don't see that here. What I see is a contrast between elegance and down to earth that works incredibly well. Basically, what I'm saying is: I love this shot!

Kiarang Alaei   {K:48318} 11/12/2005
Perfect idea!

Giuliano Guarnieri   {K:34133} 11/12/2005
Was it a wedding?
Anyway the result is very nice, very "emotional" perspective

Bea Friedli   {K:9816} 11/12/2005
Thank you Greg ! I actually wasn't trying for anything. It was Halloween that day and the opportunity presented itself. Thanks !

Paul Boocock   {K:8314} 11/12/2005
This is marvellous Bea and more than a little surreal. This could be telling many stories I'm sure.

Bea Friedli   {K:9816} 11/12/2005
ha ha ! no..it was actually Halloween !

Bea Friedli   {K:9816} 11/12/2005
thank you Paul ! I didn't title it..want it to be left up to the viewer and not sway anyone. Thanks !

Giuliano Guarnieri   {K:34133} 11/12/2005
ooh yes, there's also a cartoon movie of Tim Burton dedicated to her!

:)

luis pereira   {K:17710} 11/12/2005

Ciprian Ilie   {K:13215} 11/15/2005
Very well composed, and the subject is very sharp against the slightly out of focus back-drop.

I like it!

Regards,
Ciprian

Claude Tenot   {K:9829} 11/17/2005
On contemple cette photo....on sait que c'est toi l'auteur....tout est harmonie..dans les couleurs et dans le cadrage...je constate aussi ton attirance pour les points de fuite...

Shelby Shumate   {K:9673} 2/11/2007
Very well done & framed nicely with the black border. Love the way the ribbon in her hair ties in with the other colors.
