Great capture, Roger. So much more refined than the gaudy, not-so-funny labels you get in Britain these days ('cocks' & 'hens', for instance!)

Actually I think "Cocks and hens" is quite funny, although I suppose it looks less funny every time you see it. I can assure you these "Lords & Ladies" are very rare in Japan! This is the first time I've seen it in 38 years...

Oh this is superb (though I did laugh at "cocks and hens" as well, easily amused as I am...)! Much more fun than Poland where most doors are marked with circles and triangles. I like the way you've kept a bit of the door in the image to produce a natural frame.
