Nice image, I think it would have been better without the dark lower corners though.

Thanks for commenting Manu. About this photo: I love Great Britain and its atmosphere and this is a wonderful impression. Well done.

Hi Manu

This reminds me of the cover art for U2's album The Unforgettable Fire. I like the composition. Lower in the frame the ruins seem to reach out to that wonderful sky. The vignette is also a nice touch.

Perfection above all else! High breathing space.

Fabulous shot!!! Great use of a wide angle lens, in this case the distortion adds to the overall image to make it just that more special!!! Beautiful colors, good details in the ruin and excellent composition... well captured!!! I personally find the vignetting a bit much esp. on the bottom... sorry...

nice composition, colors and contrast.

the dark corners do enhance the "up" feeling, a tendency to look upwards. The effect may ne a bit strong though... maybe adding bit of blur, and lowering brightness and contrast just in the corners would give the same effect without drawing the attention to the effect itself (of course if it draws attention, the result is contrary to the "up" movement you want to get...

Hi Manu,

I'm a sucker for wide angle perspectives. This picture is something I would definitely shoot the same way. love that perfect detail in the sky and the low angle.

high quality stuff as usual!

best wishes,
Thilo

Hello Manu,

very beautiful and moody. I like the persective you used, the slight curved wide angle take and the gradient of colours in the sky.

Regards from Portugal,
Paulo

Manu:

Had to comment on at least one photograph, but this could apply to a lot of your shots -

Your portfolio has an excellent sense of space and composition.

- Graphical simplicity, a lot of negative space around complete subjects, but also a mastery of assymetric composition and close up tight shots of essentials for abstracted compositions.

- A real sense of eastern balance, kind of a exacting composition but not the tight rule of thirds. This is beyond the "rule", and I have a feel you are beyond needing it.

- Color is used sensibly, brought in in bold statements to strengthen and pop out subjects.

- Static compositions are intentional, graphical, flat, but textured for interest.

- Hoping you are making some money at this, portfolio looks presentable and professional, not just the goofing around I do.
