nice portrait, i like the toning, dof is very effective in seperating the subject and the background, nice work

Oh ... poor guy! Pubs are full of people like this :) The wrinkles on his forehead and his absent look tell us that he has seen better days. Excellent!

Linda Bique   {K:73244} 11/29/2005
Yes, he looks like he's not feeling well, great capture of the mood, nice dof to isolate your subject, nice work Thilo!

Stefan Engström   {K:24473} 11/29/2005
I like the subdued colors you have used. The composition with lots of space in front of him is good, but to me it indicates more of an contemplative mood than a hangover.

Paolo Corradini   {K:48781} 11/29/2005
i like your crop and your idea, probably a BW it's good alternative ..
greetings

PAOLO

Thilo,
This guy looks like he has all the trouble in the world on his shoulders. Just as you suggest in the title. Nice positioning in the image. It's good to have some other people in the background out of the DOF.

Very good mood and the crop enhances the conscricted feeling. I ike the dramatic perspective with the ceiling beams fanning out too.
Very nice work!

I love this image but can not put my finger on it....the crop and the tones plus the sad looking face.....as though he ran out of money still wanting another Kitzmann mass and a shot of Hinbeergeist.....or just contemplating life

Hi Paolo,

BW is always a good idea ;-)

This time, I wanted the special color.

thx, Thilo

Great detail for such a slow exposure. How did you achieve such an effect on PS?

Rgds,
Luis

Maria Luisa Vial   {K:36017} 11/30/2005
He looks like I feel right now... and definetely my hear is weighing a million pounds right now... So, you captured de mood incredibly well... at least I feel the same the mood is giving me... :)

Excellent composition... Love the DOF, eventhough the people in the back distract me a little bit... but not much you could have done in this case...

Cheers,

MaLuisa

Hi Luis,

the main work was with the yellow slider in the color toning setup. I reduced the saturation. Then I added a channel mixer layer with soft light blending and +130%, +102% and + 132% (RGB).

best wishes,
Thilo

A very fine portrait. An English person might have said "My head weighs a ton!" The subject really fits the title you have given.

LG,Ursula
