Portfolio: The river
Portfolio Description: The Charente is a river in western France, 360 kilometers long.
It flows in the Atlantic Ocean near the Town Rochefort Sur Mer.
These pictures were made some kilometers before Rochefort, at the place the tide's effect is still very important.
At low tide, the river is very narrow, and the banks made of several meters of mud, which form wonderful stripes of silver in the beautiful light of our region.
At high tide, for a rather short moment, the river is spread and quiet as a lake.
