About: Status:- Amateur wanting to be Part-time Professional.
What else do I do?:- My very best! Outside of photography, I am an IT professional in Banking industry in Australia. I paint occasionally, listen to music, keep in touch with many of my friends and from my hometown in Sri Lanka who are now all over this globe. When I get a chance we travel in Australia and in Sri Lanka, where I was born and raised.
Inspired:- To become a photographer after I bought a Canon prosumer digital camera and realised creative possibilities with digital technology. Now I use a film SLR as well.
Learnt:- By trial, error and through experiments. I recently got my brain around apertures and manual controls after attending a photography course.
Who would I like to learn from:- That?s really hard to answer as there are so many talented photographers and different styles that I admire.
Favourite Photographers:- Steve McCurry; Isabel Munoz; Sebastiao Salgado, Maleoon; George Rodgers, Christina Garcia Rodero. There are many more.
Aspiration:- To be a photojournalist or a documentary photographer and travel around Asia, south America, Africa and those exotic locations. I also want to photograph the natural beauty of my country of birth, Sri Lanka and it?s friendly and generous people.
