About: Josh McMurtrie was born and raised in Southern California. His artistic parents inspired and motivated him from childhood. His interest in photography grew as he experimented with ways to find new subjects to draw, and as enamored as he was with animals and nature, he wanted to create artworks from photographs he took. But as he started taking pictures more, he fell in love with it and has been doing it ever since.
Josh received his Associates of Arts degree from Mira Costa Community College, taking as many figure drawing, ceramics, and composition classes as he could. He transferred to UCSD and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Media, with an emphasis in photography.
