About: I have enjoyed photography since I was a little kid, starting with a Kodak Ektralite 10, moving to an advanced for its time: Canon Sure Shot Ace Prisma, progressing to a Canon Elph before finally getting a more suitable Nikon F75. Just recently I have finally made the jump to digital, replacing my everyday Canon Elph with a Canon PowerShot SD 400, SD 800 IS and now a SD 870 IS and SD 1000, as wells as my SLR Nikon F75 with a Nikon D70s, D80 and now a D40.
Even at 32, I am still an absolute amateur. I have had no formal courses or training, and I honestly don’t even know how to use the majority of the features on my present SLRs. Mainly due to this lack of feature knowledge/experience, all of my pictures tend to be of the point and shoot variety even with an SLR. When I really set-up a shot, it means I switched the selector switch from auto to landscape mode, and perhaps focused the shot manually.
I also have absolutely zero knowledge when it comes to editing pictures, although recently I have been experimenting with some of the available options of ACDSee 7 and ACDSee Pro.
I have a real interest in night photography, but have never had much success. I rarely, if ever photograph people, preferring animals or scenery. Sadly, my favourite static subjects are corn fields and power lines.
